Klein-Unibit® Titanium-Nitride Coated Step-Drill Bits
- These new bits are similar to our high-speed steel step-drill bits but have a titanium-nitride coating.
- This new coating, which has a hardness value of 82 to 86 on the Rockwell "C" scale, creates a surface that makes the bits last up to 4 to 5 times longer than ordinary drill bits.
- It also dramatically reduces friction for cooler, smoother running without lubrication.
- The bits are perfect for drilling accurate round holes in thin metal (up to 1/8" thick), i.e. steel, brass, aluminum and copper, as well as plastic and wood.
- Self-starting tips won't skid.
- No center punching or pilot hole drilling is required.
- The bits are easy to keep sharp.
- The easy-to-read hole sizes are permanently laser-etched in the flute areas.
- The bits are designed for use in portable electric drills and drill presses.

Unlike standard-point twist drills with two cutting surfaces, the single-flute design of the Klein-Unibit drill bit eliminates skidding. Single cutting-edge design assures penetration of softer materials at
the proper speed, stops "hogging-in", helps to eliminate chatter and vibration. Hole is de-burred automatically by the next succeeding size. You can feel and see each step as the bit penetrates. Hole-size diameters are permanently laser-etched
in the flute area of each bit, and offer quick and positive identification of each hole-size step to help eliminate user errors. |
