Detailed Features
Electronic Distance Measuring Tool - Sends out narrow beams of sound waves which "bounce" off solid objects back to the hand held receive. Custom electronics and a microprocessor convert elapsed time into a distance measurement and display it on the LCD. When using the electronic target, it uses both sound waves and infrared beam. Measures from 1'10" Up To 60 Feet in single unit mode (without electronic target) - Requires 1 square foot of perpendicular hard surface for every 10' of measured distance ( at 30' a door or window is adequate) Measures from 1'10" Up To 250 Feet in dual unit mode (with electronic target) - great for indoor our outdoor use!!! Target has tripod fitting so that it can be mounted if necessary. Electronic target had LED so that you can determine when a signal is being received. Slow blink confirms that target is on and rapid flash confirms when signal is being received. Computes areas - Length x Width = Square Feet - Measure length then press (X) key. Measure Width then press (X) key. The total square feet will show on the display ( sq2 ). Computes volumes - Length x Width x Height = Cubic Feet - Measure Length then Press (X) key. Measure Width then press (X) key. Measure Height then press (X) key. The total cubic feet will show in the display ( ft3 ). Adds linear measurements, areas, volumes - For Adding Linear Measurements - Take first measure meant the press (+) key, take second measure then press (+) again etc. For Adding Areas or Volumes: Compute area or volume as show above then press (+) key (this stores the area or volume in the (+) memory). Compute your next area or volume and then press the (+) key again. Your grand total area or volume will be displayed (example: L (X) W (X) H (X) (+) L (X) W (X) H (X) (+). Measures in Feet/Inches, meters/centimeters, decimal feet or yards - Unit defaults to Feet and Inches. To change the default, after taking your measurement hold down the ( C ) key until desired mode is reached. This will change the mode. Tracking and Validate Modes - You can track a distance and/or validate a distance. Tracking - Hold down tracking bar to track a distance. Unit will taken continuous readings. Validate - When you have reached your distance, validate the measurement by pressing then releasing the validate bar. The unit will take several like measurement before giving you a reading. (It validates itself.) Field Calibration - Can be field calibrated to ensure accuracy in other than standard conditions. Memory - 7 memory compartments (5 memory register and two calculation memories) Automatic internal temperature compensation - To obtain the temperature of the internal boards press the (+) key and measurement bar at the same time. This is helpful for accuracy. (example - If the unit is kept in a car on a sunny day or in your pocket on a cold sunny day, you can check the temperature to be certain that the unit is the same temperature are the area you are measuring. If you are off, then wave the unit to acclimate to the current measuring temperature to ensure accuracy within specs. Auto shut-off 7 minutes after last button is pressed - This helps save the life of the 9 Volt Battery . Detailed instruction booklet in English / French / Spanish languages. Quick Reference instruction label on back of unit in English, French or Spanish. Low Battery Warning - "BATT" shows on the display when your batteries are low. Requires Two 9 Volt Battery (not included) Accuracy - 99.5% ± ¼" in single mode or 99.5% ± ½" in dual mode (formula for margin of error: i.e. 20' x 12" x .005 = 1.2" +/- ¼" at 20 Feet) |
