Starrett Inspectors' Micrometer / Caliper Gage
No. 175 (0 - 2")
This Starrett gage was developed in conjunction with Steel Boiler Inspectors who wanted to measure wall thickness in hard-to-reach places.
Since this gage is easily inserted through any small hole, it can be used to measure the thickness of either flat or cylindrical walls in biolers, flues, tubing, stampings, ship plates, etc., that are impossible
to gage with other types of measuring equipment.
The Starrett Inspectors' Micrometer/Caliper Gage consists of a micrometer head, reading in thousandths of an inch, which has an offset arm and a curved, rounded anvil giving a range of 0 - 2". The
anvil may be turned out of gaging position by loosening a lock nut to permit inserting the anvil through small holes.
Small holes - minimum hole size range from 9/32" for 1/16" thick walls to 1-1/4" minimum holes size for 2" thick walls. |
